Cocktail Couture

Here at SoCo Events we believe that it is truly all in the details, and with that you should never miss an opportunity to style your wedding.  Signature Drinks are a great way to infuse style and enhance your wedding look, but it is not just about the actual drink.  The presentation of your betrothed beverage is just as important as the drink itself.  Here are some of our favorite drink designs!

Amy Atlas Sweet Designs

This week my new favorite book was released and it has been tough to put down!  Amy Atlas' Sweet Designs is full of tips and tricks to turn your dessert table into a styled masterpiece!  Dessert and candy bars are here to stay, but I always say it takes more than just putting candy in a bowl to have them be wedding worthy.  Amy is the queen of styled sweets and I cannot wait to put all of her ideas to good use!

Kim and David's Engagement Session

I was so thrilled when Justine Ungaro sent images from Kim and David's engagement session in L.A.  The lovely couple is getting married this September on Nantucket, but are L.A. based just like Justine, so it was perfect that they meet up for the photo session.   I must admit I was feeling way too east coast as they all got together on the west coast, but these pictures make me feel like I was there!

Thanks, Justine!  The pictures are fabulous and how cute is their dog?!?

Marvelous Marshmallows

Even though the weather is warming up, Winter Weddings are are on my mind as I search for a great drink idea for December wedding.  I stumbled upon these marshmallows from Plush Puffs and just thought how perfect they are for that extra special touch at a winter wedding!

MugToppers Gourmet Marshmallows are cut and sized just right to float
atop a cup of hot cocoa, coffee or tea!
Peppy-Mint Flavor
Vanilla Bean Flavor

I think these would be great in a to-go cup of something warm as guests exit into the cold night!

Change Your Stripes

There is no denying that I love a good stripe.  Stripes have such versatility and can fit into any affair.  A stripe can be the definition of uber-prep, the epitome of class, or fresh and mod all at the same time.  No other pattern can claim such adaptability, proving that maybe you can change your stripes....well at least in weddings!

These preppy stripes are great on the bridesmaid dresses!

Stripey Straws are fun and add great pops of color!

The striped ribbon adds a rustic feel

A striped carnival style tent...yes please!

Striped ribbon candy adds great nostalgia!

How modern and fierce are these Jonathan Adler dishes?!?

Classic stripes pair perfectly with the Black and White cookie favor!
What is your stipe style?

Sucker for Seersucker

 Happy Marathon Monday!
Between the coverage of the Boston Marathon and the work I have been doing for my upcoming  Nantucket weddings,  I have been longing for my days up north.  Lobster, Chowder (must pronounce as Chowda), Fenway Park, Nantucket Red shorts and Seersucker are just a few of my favorite things that remind me of Beantown and The Grey Lady.  Now some may think a Red Sox inspired wedding is the only way to go (my husband invited every player on the 2005 roster to our own wedding), I personally am a sucker for seersucker weddings!

This monogrammed seersucker clutch would make a great bridesmaid gift!

These bow ties scream wedding prep!

A great way to infuse your preppy style into the table decor

What is there not to love about a seersucker Christian Louboutin?!?!

Seersucker even can make it's way onto the cake

Adorable napkins!

What are some of your favorite seersucker ideas??
